SPACE
Space refers to distances or areas around, between or within components of a piece. It includes the background, foreground and middle ground.
Sometimes space is not in a piece, but the illusion of it is. Usually space is three-dimensional.
TYPES OF SPACES:
Positive and Negative Spaces:
Positive space means the space of a shape representing the subject of matter and negative space refers to the space around and between the subject matter.
Two and Three-dimensional Space:
Two dimensional space is found on flat surfaces. It has no depth, only length and width. On the other hand, three-dimensional space has width, height and depth.
